Yo ox, good article , just checking in with an update. Started the now your fat program in January. It works. 46 years old 6’ tall. Jan 1 was 280 weighed in this morning at 220.

Is rate of muscle growth more dependent on years of Exp or distance from size potential? Or another phrasing--can one lose newbie gains permanently by not nailing Year 1?

Thankful for these posts!

Been lifting for ~ 10 years (I'm 25) but started to dial in beginning of the year following Ox's posts... and let's just say the amount of positive comments I've gotten from strangers, friends who haven't seen me in awhile, etc is staggering. People literally stop me and ask for advice lol

The secret literally is to just "show up everyday" for 6+ months and the compound interest will work it's magic - the journey is fun as well! People start looking up to you, respect your opinions more, and you almost get this superpower that flows into all other facets of your life...

Anyways, keep up the progress everyone and don't forget to pay it forward to others if you're in a position to do so! We're all gonna make it brahs

Ox, say you’ve been working out for 10 years plus, but really didn’t know how to train “the right way” until discovering your substack. Do you start back at year one or is the rate growth still apply as laid out?

Hi Ox, thanks for the article. I'm 5'10, started dieting at 220lbs over a year and a half ago and I'm currently sitting on 161 lbs. I'm currently between 11-13% body fat and look quite skinny (not much muscle mass which is a bit disappointing). I've been lifting through this entire time (not properly at first but then started your PPL program and been following your advice in terms of logbook, protein intake etc for the last 5-6 months), but given that I'm on a caloric deficit, would you say this counts as my first year of training or does that apply mostly when I start bulking?
