Hey sent you a message on twitter. I’m wanting to do an article on the financials of gym ownership and this new version of personal training where people post content like yours online! Let me know if a collab is in the cards!
In relation to effort how do I rationalize or what are some mental framing tips for when getting to the gym is a slog (e.g due to insomnia running on 4 hours of sleep) am I better taking it easy in this situation?
Pumped to get started on this one. Any chance you could offer a numbers format for the downloadable pdf? I find it easiest to log my workouts on my phone and I think a lot of customers might have have the same experience while also being iPhone users.
Hey Ox! Love your content and excited for the new program coming!
I have an odd personal situation where I find myself spending half my time in a city where I have a decent home gym (but mainly limited to dumbbells and various barbells) and the other half in another city where I have a decent globogym 5 minutes away.
I've been struggling with trying to get some consistency in my programming when I'm going back and forth, so I've been trying to modify your programs so I can do something like PPL when I have access to gym equipment and a modified version when I'm at home. It sounds like I have two options that make sense:
- Option 1: Just follow your barbell / dumbbell program both at home and at the gym. This would be the least disruptive change to my lifestyle, while maintaining consistency. It just feels like I may be leaving a lot of benefit on the table by not using machines when I have access to them.
- Option 2: Find another gym back home so I can have consistent access to machines, regardless of the city I'm in. This seems like it would provide the best results at the expense of added time to travel to a gym and the emotional pain of having a thousands of dollars of home equipment taking up half of my garage unused.
Either way, I feel like I'm being a giant fucking midwit about this and I need a punch in the face.
It’s happening right now!

Could be a good post next year, I’m not sure I’m seeing the DM however.
I had to make a tweet because I couldn’t DM haha.
If you look me up on twitter you’ll probably see it, sorry for putting you through the work here
Pumped for this program and the 90 day challenges are always great. Another great read
Thanks for the valuable ideas you share. All the best to you and yours in 2024!
So ready. Thanks Ox.

An infrequent thing? Not a huge deal. Frequent thing? Need to really evacuate what the deeper issue is.
