Thanks for the post. You seem to imply that the Mentzer method of low volume high intensity is not as effective once you are more advanced. If so could you elaborate on why that is and what you would recommend instead?

GREAT suggestions for this type of training. Training only one set to failure for each body part is no joke and in my experience you will get results this way no matter your level as your body will capitalize upon the drop in volume and respond positively. But make no mistake, this is not "easier" training. I love training this way.

You say that with this program “you are out of the gym in under an hour which is productive for testosterone/cortisol numbers.”

Can you elaborate? My workouts (5/3/1 for beginners from the r/Fitness wiki) can be up to an hour and a half at times. Is this counterproductive?

I've been following a similar program for the past few months. The biggest advantage for me is I'm still able to make gains while boxing 5x a week. I've found higher volume gym sessions impact my boxing sessions.

Highly recommend this style of workout!
